More Winter Warm-Up Fun

Today, it was the boys’ turn to go to Winter Warm-Up with Ryan. They had a great time!

Turkey finally got his turn at the velcro wall. He’s been wanting to try it ever since he found out that Bunny got thrown onto it on Saturday!

From what I can tell, Moose just loved the whole experience, especially all of the swag he brought home!

Baseball in January…I’m loving it!

Winter Warm-Up

This afternoon, I took Chickadee down to the Hyatt Regency St. Louis Arch for the Cardinals Winter Warm-Up. (Ryan took the big girls yesterday, and is taking the boys tomorrow.) It’s hard to explain the crush of people, the lines for autographs, all of the vendors with displays, so I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.

I didn’t have any autograph tickets, but I did manage to get one signature while I was there…from Fredbird!

It was nice to think about baseball again, even if the season doesn’t start for a few more months!

The Last Home Game

Tonight is the last game of 2013 at Busch Stadium. It always makes me sad to think of the ballpark sitting there empty and lonely until next spring. Until then, though, here’s one of my favorite pictures of baseball heaven!

Quote of the Day

I love this quote…it demonstrates how baseball imitates life!

In the end, it comes down to throwing one pitch after another, and seeing what happens. With each new consequence, the game begins to take shape. Avery Brooks as Commander Sisko in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

A Promise Kept

For the last few weeks, every time we’ve been in the grocery store, we’ve seen Cardinals cakes, cookies, and cupcakes. Of course, these caught the children’s eye every time they saw them, especially the giant cookies the size of a pizza. I told them that when the Cards won the pennant, I’d buy them one of the decorated cookies.

I almost forgot, even though I had been thinking about it before the game yesterday. But when we stopped at Schnucks today, the children proved that their memories are much better than mine, because they certainly hadn’t forgotten! As soon as they brought it to my attention, I remembered, and now the Carlos Beltran cookie has been a delicious promise kept!

We loved this Lego Stan the Man at the St. Louis Lego Store!
